Σε λιγότερο από μια βδομάδα τα πληρώματα θα βρεθούν στην εκκίνηση του CNP ASFALISTIKI Cyprus Rally 2016. Τόσο η οργανωτική επιτροπή όσο και οι ομάδες ολοκληρώνουν σιγά σιγά τις προετοιμασίες τους για τους για το μεγάλο αγώνα των 822,47 χιλιομέτρων και των δεκατεσσάρων ειδικών διαδρομών. Όπως είναι ήδη γνωστό το CNP ASFALISTIKI Cyprus Rally 2016, που θα διεξαχθεί στις 7—9 Οκτωβρίου, αποτελεί το δέκατο γύρο του φετινού Ευρωπαϊκού πρωταθλήματος (ERC), τον πέμπτο γύρο του πρωταθλήματος Μέσης Ανατολής αλλά και τον τέταρτο γύρο του Παγκυπρίου πρωταθλήματος ράλι.
Εβδομήντα δύο συνολικά πληρώματα βρίσκονται στη λίστα των συμμετοχών του φετινού αγώνα. Μια λίστα που θεωρείτε από τις σημαντικότερες των τελευταίων χρόνων με δυνατές παρουσίες από το χώρο του Ευρωπαϊκού Πρωταθλήματος, του πρωταθλήματος Μέσης Ανατολής αλλά και την αφρόκρεμα των Κυπρίων οδηγών.
Η λίστα των συμμετοχών του Ευρωπαϊκού πρωταθλήματος περιλαμβάνει 55 συνολικά πληρώματα, Μεταξύ αυτών, εννέα από το χώρο του ERC, πέντε από το χώρο του πρωταθλήματος Μέσης Ανατολής και 39 από την Κύπρο. Παράλληλα, άλλα δώδεκα πληρώματα θα διαγωνιστούν για το Κυπριακό πρωτάθλημα ενώ άλλα πέντε δήλωσαν συμμετοχή μόνο για την CNP ASFALISTIKI Super Special Stage.
Μεταξύ των συμμετοχών συμπεριλαμβάνονται ονόματα όπως του δευτεραθλητή του ERC Alexey Lukyanuk με Ford Fiesta R5 και του τριταθλητή Ralf Sirmacis με Skoda Fabia R5 αλλά και του οδηγού της Team Greece Λάμπρου Αθανασσούλα με Fiesta R5. Με ένα Citroen DS3 R5 θα τρέξει ο Ούγγρος David Bodka ενώ με Skoda θα αγωνιστούν, τόσο ο Γερμανός Marijan Griebel όσο και ο Λετονός Nikolay Gryazin. Αξιοσημείωτο είναι ότι στο φετινό αγώνα λαμβάνει για πρώτη φορά μέρος η Castrol Ford Team Turkey με τέσσερα συνολικά πληρώματα. Τρία Ford Fiesta R2 στην κατηγορία ERC3 και ένα Fiesta S200 στην κατηγορία RC2. Από το χώρο της Μέσης Ανατολής, μπορεί να απουσιάζει ο πολυπρωταθλητής Nasser Al-Attiyah, αλλά σίγουρα ξεχωρίζουν τα ονόματα των Khalid Al Suwaidi από το Κατάρ με Fiesta R5 και του πολύ γρήγορου Λιβάνιου πρωταθλητή Roger Feghali με Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX.
Δυναμικό παρών και από πλευράς Κυπριακών συμμετοχών. Επτά συνολικά Κυπριακά πληρώματα θα τρέξουν και για τους βαθμούς του Ευρωπαϊκού πρωταθλήματος. Οι περσινοί νικητές – από Κυπριακής πλευράς – και πρωταθλητές Χρίστος Δημοσθένους και Πάμπος Λαός θα τρέξουν με το Evo IX ενώ με ίδιο αυτοκίνητο και οι Κώστας Ζήνωνος με το Φάνο Χριστοφή. Συμμετοχή και για το Χαράλαμπο Τιμοθέου, τον μοναδικό νικητή του θεσμού που συμμετέχει φέτος, και θα τρέξει με τον Παναγιώτη Σιάλο στη θέση του συνοδηγού ενώ ο νεαρός Πανίκος Πολυκάρπου θα έχει και πάλι τον Gerald Winter στη θέση του συνοδηγού. Για τους βαθμούς του Ευρωπαϊκού θα τρέξει και ο ιδιαίτερα γρήγορος «Chips Junior» με τον Αντώνη Χρυσοστόμου στο διπλανό μπάκετ. Μαζί τους και τα δύο Suzuki Swift Sport των «Dimi» και Μαρία Morozova και «Leo» με τον «Zoli». Mε ένα Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX θα τρέξει και ο πρωταθλητής του 2014 Σταύρος Αντωνίου ενώ με ίδιο αυτοκίνητο και οι Σάββα, Εγγλέζου, Χριστοφή, Παφίτης και Παναγιώτης Γιάγκου ενώ με Lancer Evo X θα αγωνιστεί ο πρωτοπόρος του φετινού πρωταθλήματος Σίμος Γαλαταριώτης όπως και οι Πέτρος Παντελή, Μιχάλης Ποσείδιας και Παύλος Παύλου.
Πενηνταέξι συνολικά πληρώματα θα τρέξουν με την Κυπριακή σημαία στις πόρτες τους. Μεταξύ των 56 πληρωμάτων θα είναι και έντεκα Τουρκοκυπριακά πληρώματα με τα ονόματα των Fikri Macila (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) και Mustafa Bulutoglurari (Ford Fiesta R5) να ξεχωρίζουν.
Τέλος, θα πρέπει να αναφέρουμε ότι τα 72 πληρώματα προέρχονται από εννέα συνολικά χώρες. 56 από την Κύπρο, πέντε από την Τουρκία, τρία από το Κατάρ, δύο από το Λίβανο και τη Λετονία και ένα πλήρωμα από Γερμανία, Ουγγαρία, Ελλάδα και Ρωσία.

72 crews are ready to go for the
CNP ASFALISTIKI CYPRUS RALLY 2016
All the cars and crews are preparing for the start of the CNP ASFALISTIKI Cyprus Rally 2016 which is in less than a week. The organizing committee and the teams are getting ready for the 822,47 kilometers and 14 special stages to come. The event will take place from the 7th to 9th of October and will, once again, host two regional FIA championship rounds. One will be the tenth and final round of the European Rally Championship and the other will be the fifth round of the Middle East Rally Championship. Moreover, it will also be the fourth round of the Cypriot Championship.
A total of seventy two crews are on the entry list for this year’s rally. A list comprised of the most important names of the European, Middle East and Cypriot rallying scenes, making it one of the most important entry lists we ever had. The entry list for the European Championship includes 55 crews totally. Among them, 9 crews from the ERC, 5 from the Middle-East Rally Championship and 39 of them from Cyprus. Subsequently, 12 more crews will participate in the Cypriot Championship and 5 other crews will only partake in the CNP ASFALISTIKI Super Special Stage.
Among the entrants there are big names such as ERC No.2 Alexey Lukyanuk with his Ford Fiesta R5 and ERC No.3 Ralf Sirmacis in a Skoda Fabia R5 but also the driver of Team Greece Lambros Athanasoullas in a Fiesta R5. Hungarian driver David Bodka will drive a Citroen DS3 R5 whereas German driver Marijan Griebel and Latvian driver Nikolay Gryazin will both drive a Skoda. Another important point is the participation (for the first time) of Castrol Ford Team Turkey with a total of four crews. Three Ford Fiesta R2’s in the ERC3 and one Fiesta S200 in the RC2 category. From the Middle East scene, multi-champion Nasser Al-Attiyah may be absent, but other big names such as Qatari Khalid Al Suwaidi 9Ford Fiesta R5) and the very fast Lebanese driver Roger Feghali (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) will take part.
Cypriot crews will also be out in numbers! Seven Cypriot crews in total will be able to compete for points for the European Championship. Last year’s Cypriot winners – and champions – Christos Dimsothenous and Pambos Laos will take part in an Evo IX. The same model will be used by Costas Zenonos and Fanos Christofi. Charalambos Timotheou, the only Cyprus Rally winner to take part this year, will also participate with Panayiotis Chialos as his co-driver. Young gun Panicos Polycarpou will have Gerald Winter sitting beside him in the car. “Chips Junior” will also aim for European points with Antonis Chrystostomou as his co-driver, much like the two Suzuki Swift Sport of “Dimi” and Maria Morozova and “Leo” and “Zoli”.
2014 Cyprus Champion Stavros Antoniou, Savva, Egglezou, Christofi and Pafitis will participate in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. The leader of the Cypriot Championship, Simos Galatariotis, Petros Panteli, Michael Posidias and Pavlos Pavlou will take part in an Evo X.
There will be a total of 56 cars with the Cyprus flag. Amongst them, 11 will be Turkish-Cypriot entries such as Fikri Macila (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) and Mustafa Bulutoglurari (Ford Fiesta R5).
Finally, it is should be noted that the 72 crews come from a total of 9 countries. 56 of them from Cyprus, five from Turkey, three from Qatar, two from Lebanon and Latvia and one crew from Germany, Hungary, Greece and Russia.
