Την 50ή του διοργάνωση γιορτάζει φέτος το Ράλλυ Κύπρος το οποίο θα διεξαχθεί το τριήμερο 6-8 Οκτωβρίου 2023 και θα αποτελέσει τον 5ο γύρο του Πρωταθλήματος Ράλλυ Μέσης Ανατολής και παράλληλα τον 3ο και 4ογύρο του Παγκύπριου Πρωταθλήματος Ράλλυ, με την κάθε μέρα του αγώνα να μετράει ως ξεχωριστός γύρος για το τοπικό πρωτάθλημα.
Ο αγώνας, που διοργανώνει ο Κυπριακός Σύνδεσμος Αυτοκινήτου, θα έχει ως βάση τη Λευκωσία, με το Service Park, το Αρχηγείο και το Κέντρο Τύπου να βρίσκονται απέναντι από το Πάρκο Κυκλοφοριακής Αγωγής, δίπλα από το Αρχηγείο Αστυνομίας, στην Αγλαντζιά. Η εκκίνηση της Παρασκευής και ο τερματισμός της Κυριακής θα λάβουν χώρα στο παλιό δημαρχείο Λευκωσίας, στην Πλατεία Ελευθερίας.
Το 50ο διεθνές Ράλλυ Κύπρος θα περιλαμβάνει δώδεκα αμιγώς χωμάτινες ειδικές διαδρομές, με τη δράση να εκτυλίσσεται στα ημιορεινά της επαρχίας Λευκωσίας και γύρω από την πρωτεύουσα. Στις 27 Σεπτεμβρίου θα ανακοινωθούν από τους διοργανωτές του Κυπριακού Συνδέσμου Αυτοκινήτου οι διαδρομές, με τους χάρτες των ειδικών διαδρομών, καθώς και η τελική λίστα συμμετοχών.
Η αλυτάρχης του Ράλλυ Κύπρος κα. Νάγια Κοντοπούλου, δήλωσε: «Το Ράλλυ Κύπρος, ενθουσιάζει τους συμμετέχοντες και τους θεατές, από τη δεκαετία του ’70 και αυτό στοχεύουμε να συνεχίσουμε να κάνουμε. Με πάνω από 50 χρόνια εμπειρίας και πάθος για το σπορ, έχουμε όλα τα εφόδια που χρειαζόμαστε, για να διοργανώσουμε ένα πετυχημένο ράλλυ».
Μεγάλη μάχη για το Πρωτάθλημα Μέσης Ανατολής
Το 50ο Ράλλυ Κύπρος θα αποτελέσει φέτος τον 5ο και προτελευταίο γύρο του Πρωταθλήματος Ράλλυ Μέσης Ανατολής, με το αποτέλεσμα στις ειδικές διαδρομές της Κύπρου τον Οκτώβριο να αναμένονται καθοριστικά για την έκβαση της φετινής σεζόν.
Αυτό επειδή ο Nasser Al-Attiyah (Κατάρ) έπεσε δεύτερος στην κατάταξη μετά τον αγώνα στο Λίβανο το τριήμερο 15-17 Σεπτεμβρίου, αφού είχε έξοδο και εγκατέλειψε. Έχει 78β, με τον Abdullah Al Rawahi (Ομάν) να είναι πλέον στους 84β.
Ο Al-Attiyah, ο οποίος θεωρεί την Κύπρο ως δεύτερο του σπίτι, κέρδισε το 2ο γύρο του Πρωταθλήματος Μέσης Ανατολής που έγινε στη χώρα του, μεταξύ 16-18 Φεβρουαρίου, ενώ ήταν δεύτερος στο διεθνές Ράλλυ Ομάν (26-28 Ιανουαρίου) και στο Ράλλυ Ιορδανίας (18-20 Μαΐου). Ο Al Rawahi κέρδισε την πρωτιά σε Ομάν και Ιορδανία, ήταν δεύτερος στο Λίβανο και δεν πήρε βαθμούς στο Κατάρ.
Μετά την Κύπρο, το Πρωτάθλημα Ράλλυ Μέσης Ανατολής 2023 ολοκληρώνεται το τριήμερο 16-18 Νοεμβρίου με το διεθνές Ράλλυ Κουβέιτ.
Στο 50ο διεθνές Ράλλυ Κύπρος που διοργανώνει ο Κυπριακός Σύνδεσμος Αυτοκινήτου, αναμένεται με ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον η αναμέτρηση του επτά φορές νικητής του Εθνικού μας αγώνα -με πιο πρόσφατες νίκες του το 2019 και το 2020- Nasser Al Attiyah με συνοδηγό τον Matthieu Baumel με τους Al Rawahi / Al Hmoud και των πρωτοπόρων του Παγκύπριου Πρωταθλήματος, πρωταθλητών και νικητών του Ράλλυ Κύπρος 2018 Σίμο Γαλαταριώτη, / Αντώνη Ιωάννου.
Τη φετινή διοργάνωση υποστηρίζουν οι Δήμοι Λευκωσίας και Αγλαντζιάς καθώς και η Αστυνομία Κύπρου.

The 50th Cyprus Rally returns on 6-8 October 2023!
The Cyprus Rally celebrates its 50th staging this year, with the event set to take place over the three days of October 6-8, 2023. This year’s Cyprus Rally will serve as the 5th round of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) and at the same time as the 3rd and 4th rounds of the Cyprus Rally Championship, with each day of the race counting as a separate round for the local championship.
The race, which is organized by the Cyprus Automobile Association, will be based in Nicosia, with the Service Park, Headquarters and Press Center all located opposite the Police Headquarters, in Aglantzia. The start ceremony on Friday and the finish ceremony on Sunday will take place in front of the old town hall of Nicosia, in Eleftheria Square.
The 50th international Cyprus Rally will include twelve gravel special stages, with the action unfolding in the mountainous region of Nicosia districk and at the outskirts of the capital. On September 27, the Cyprus Automobile Association will announce the routes, with the maps of the special stages, as well as the final list of participants.
Clerk of the Course, Ms Nayia Kontopoulou, said: “Cyprus Rally has been entertaining participants and spectators since the 70s and that is what we aim to continue doing. With over 50 years of experience and passion for the sport, we have all the resources we need to organize a successful rally.”
Battle for the Middle East Rally Championship
The 50th Cyprus Rally will this year serve as the 5th and penultimate round of the Middle East Rally Championship (MERC), with the result on the special stages of Cyprus in October expected to be decisive for the outcome of this season.
That’s because Nasser Al-Attiyah (Qatar) dropped to second in the standings after the three-day event in Lebanon on September 15-17, after he crashed out and retired. The Qatari is currently with 78 points, with Abdullah Al Rawahi (Oman) now on 84 points.
Al-Attiyah, who considers Cyprus his second home, won the 2nd round of the MERC held in his country between 16-18 February, while he was second in the Oman International Rally (26-28 January) and Jordan Rally (May 18-20). Al Rawahi was first in Oman and Jordan, second in Lebanon and did not score in Qatar.
After Cyprus, the Middle East Rally Championship 2023 concludes on the three days of November 16-18 with the Kuwait International Rally.
The battle between the 7-times winner of the Cyprus Rally (with his most recent victories in 2019 and 2020) Nasser Al Attiyah, with co-driver Matthieu Baumel and Al Rawahi / Al Hmoud is expected with particular interest ahead of the 50th Cyprus Rally, organized by the Cyprus Automobile Association. As well as the leaders of Cyprus Rally Championship, including 2018 Cyprus Rally winner Simos Galatariotis, with Antonis Ioannou as co-driver.
This year’s event is supported by the Nicosia and Aglantzia Municipalities as well as the Cyprus Police.
